LETTERMAN JACKETS
Did you know that Letterman Jackets, also known as Varsity Jackets are for sale from the Athletic Boosters ? Not sure what a letterman jacket is?
In 1865, the Harvard baseball team added Olde English ‘H’ as their first varsity letter. The “H” patch was treated as the athlete’s “award” for high achievement. Throughout the decades since, not only have the jackets been worn by school varsity athletes, but by marching band and for academic achievements.
A letterman jacket is a jacket traditionally worn by high school and college students in the United States to represent school and team pride as well as to display personal awards earned in athletics, academics or activities. Letterman jackets are also known as “Varsity Jackets” in some places. Your name is embroidered on the front of the jacket, your class year as a patch can be included as well as sports, marching band and other areas of interest.
There is no better sense of pride than wearing your school colors on this stand out jacket. Be sure to check out the order form instructions on our home page (bottom left) in the “documents section” or ask a Boosters Representative.
